I watched as water came from all around and incased the wolfs leg in water. It seemed to act like a sheeth. Hopefully it will protect her from the fire.

I looked around and gathered a few dry leaves into a pile. "Perhaps I should have been more specific, I can control temperature and manipulate fire. Not good enough to create it yet." -sigh- I have to concentrate, it's been a while. Ok, feel for the door, find it deep inside. Alright, there it is. It feels cold..no, stop, concentrate. ok, focus all my thoughts...hah! There it is, I can feel the energy, I have it...now to direct it.

Think...the air the ground and some of my body heat...focus the heat on the leaves. Ok...its working, the leaves...HA! Fire! Got it on my first try! Ha ha! Can't beli- no, concentrate. Compress the fire...keep it small...wrap it around the spring. Only on the spring. Ok, the spring is covered, don't let any heat out of the fire. Make it feed into itself.

Whoah, the spring is melting! Wow, I cant believe this is working! Haha yeah! take that you filthy contraption! Make me work, ha that'll show ya! Wait, what if the fire spreads, or gose out of control..? I just let the fire go! crapcrapcrapCRAP! Gotta control it, can't think such stupid thoughts! Gotta stop it. Stop. Stop. STOP!

...Phew. That was tiring, had do put more energy into putting out the fire than it took to start or control it. Ah jeez, I hope she wasn't hurt. Ok, good, the water is still there.. "Uhh, sorry, I did mention that I wasn't so good with fire right? Hehe he..he"

I knew I should have practiced more...but, oh well, less time spent working atleast. I mean, I'm good with air, and I can heal. Should learn to stick to where my talent is at, just cause I can control fire doesn't mean I should. Oh well, atleast after this little blunder, they won't expect too much from me.

"Would you like me to patch up your leg?"

I watched as the wolves conjure up there abilities and used them. Damek was skilled but he needed to work on his speed. The other one was sloppy in his fire skills. I remember when I was young and my skills were like that. They didn't stay like that for long since I had to train them and push myself to the limits to be able to survive on my own. The older I got the better I got at using my one single ability. I have been blessed with the ability to use water but as I advanced that ability I was able to control more then just water. I was able to blood bend. Tapping into this hidden power made me unmatchable by any other but I became overconfident and lost myself to the power within days. I began targeting the largest packs I could find and killing anyone that I came across. I wanted to show the world that I was no loger weak and that I didn't need anyone else. It didn't take long for some wolves to band together and create a plan to be rid of me. They nearly killed me but I was able to keep myself alive with my own power. Even now I use it. If I was to stop I would be dead. Because I abused my power I am now weaker then I was before. At first I was furious with what they did to me but now I thank them beacuse that power in my hands, it was abused. I can still use it but I must always be using it on myself at all times, even when I sleep. I looked at the other wolves again, having pity on them for the lack of skill but envying them for what they still have that I don't.

"Would you like me to patch up your leg?" The one wolf asked the white one.

    "Yes."

"Ok, this will only take a second."

I once again felt for my door, pushed it open, and once again, felt the surge of energy. I pictured her leg mending itself, it wasn't deep and wouldnt take much energy, and I should be able to keep it from scarring.

Hmm, I could also shut off her nerves to numb it..nah, it wouldd take more energy and be pretty risky. Hope she doesn't mind having all the nerves in the area screaming at once. There we go, the magic should be working now.

"And...there, give it a few seconds. Also, try not to howl too loudly."

Kala could feel her leg being healed and then she felt a searing amount of pain, worse then the trap, she howled in agony waiting for it to be over. Once the pain had stopped she looked at her paw, it was fully healed, but still hurt. She wasn't sure why it hurt but she didn't ask, she thanked the wolf and limped up to Salvia, licking her cheek in thanks.

They all began to head back and her limp was more noticeable, she knew she wouldn't be able to hunt like this. She hoped that the gray wolf would be smarter than Damien and not allow the use of the elements to hunt. Damien didn't respect that and would wipe out whole herds and cause nothing but waste. Thinking of Damien's pack made her relook at their own pack. Salvia and Kala would need to pick mates, there was only 3 males so it wasn't hard. The black wolf was far to old for pups or mating, she wondered how good he would actually be in their pack, he had wisdom at least. She looked at the wolf who had healed her, it was apparent he was lazy, but she wondered if there was more to him then that. She glanced at Salvia next, Salvia would need a playful mate and someone who could deal with her puplike manner. It was to early to tell if any of these wolves could. Then she glanced at the gray wolf, he was attractive just because of the way he held himself, he had the strength and wisdom of an alpha, that much was apparent. Her thoughts quickly trailed back to the traps, most alpha's would just leave this area, she couldn't let that happened.

She limped up next to him, and immediately spoke, disregarding the fact that she was treading on dangerous ground by just speaking out of line to an alpha, she somehow had a feeling he would listen even as she felt the tension in the air, "We can't leave," she questioned herself as she realized what she said was more of a command than a suggestion, but she continued, "We know about the traps, all we have to do is be careful of them. Damien's pack doesn't have any clue that the traps are here, if they give chase several of them will get caught depending on how many traps there are and we will hear them and be able to escape." She waited for anger, but a part of her was still sure the anger wouldn't come. Then she felt fear, her relation to Damien might be more apparent the more she acted like an Alpha. Hopefully, no one would sense it.

Damek had released the water and stopped the air the second the trap sprang open. He watched patiently as the unknown-to-him male healed Kala's wound. The howl was pretty loud, but Damek thought it might help keep other wolves away rather than draw attention. Once all was done, they started walking back toward the clearing. Kala then walked right up to him and started talking, about the traps and their possible uses. Damek could see the apprehension on her face, if she had done that to any wolf in Damien's pack, it wouldn't have ended well at all.

But that was why they had all left, to get away from stuff like that. All Damek did was smile at the white wolf. "Yes, I agree. As long as take care not to fall prey to them, we should be quite safe here." After he little tidbit, however, he sensed a little fear. It was probably fear of what he would have had to do if they were still in Damien's pack, but Damek could just feel that it ran a little deeper. He disregarded it, everyone had their personal issues and deep secrets. He walked over to the stream and took a long drink, much more than what he needed, and then went back to his spot and laid down. There would be time to get organized tomorrow.

I woke up and stretched my legs. I walked over and got a drink from the river. I noticed that the black wolf was alread up and was just looking around from where he fell asleep. He got up and started to walk towards me. It was probably to get a drink from the the river as well. IF he was younger I would have asked if he wanted to play but I don't think at his age he would want to. Besides late time I asked a much older wolf if he wnated to play he said I insulted him but I never found out how I did.

I woke up just before the sun rose along the mountians as I always did every day. A few hours later the white wolfs companion female arose and went for a drink. I got up myself and headed to the stream. If we were to be a small pack I wanted to at least know who I was "trusting my life with". As I approached she didn't raise her head. I took a short drink and tried to start a conversation.

"May I ask who that is that you travel with?" She looked up at me.

    "You mean Kala?"

"If that is the name of the white wold that was caught in the human trap last night, then yes."

"She's my mot..." she paused for a second to rethink what she was about to say. "She's my sister."

"Well the only thing I can see that you share in comon is your beauty." She smiled slightly. "May I ask your name?"

    "Salvia. Whats your?"

    "Ethric."

    "Etric" She tried to say.

"Eth-ric" I said slowly, helping her.

    "Ethric... Thats a odd name."

"It is. My parents weren't the ones to name me and I am not sure where the name came from but I use it."

"Why not just use a more normal name?" She asked.

"I never wished for a normal name. Nore for a normal life." IT was quite for a bit.

"You asked us all if we could use magic, but you never told us if you could use any. Can you use and magic?" I assumed that her saying magic must be elemental powers.

"I can but in my age that I am now it is not even worth mentioning."

"Oh... well. I lied before when I said I couldn't do anything. I can use the magic light but some wolves still tell me I can't do anything." Ha ha I laughed to myself. Either this wolf wasn't very bright or she never learned to grow up. Unless of course she was alot younger then I thought but I didn't bother to ask how old she was.

Kala woke the morning after the trap incident and was glad her leg felt normal again. She heard voices and looked around seeing the black wolf near Salvia. She could feel a growl rumbling in her throat but she calmed down. There was no guarantee that he was trying to harm her. Kala walked over remaining calm but her stance was obviously defensive. It wasn't her fault she had a hard time trusting the males that came near Salvia, they only saw her beauty and the things Salvia didn't understand Kala understood perfectly. She placed herself a little in front of Salvia and tried hard to remain calm as she spoke, "Thank you for your help last night. We never properly introduced ourselves, my name is Kala." She looked directly into the black wolves eyes and held his gaze, her icy blue eyes were cold and held a warning in them. If anyone ever harmed Salvia in anyway she would make sure they wouldn't breathe again and she hoped, for his sake, that he would understand her warning.

As I spoke with salvia the white wolf named Kala approached us and thanked me for helping her out of the trap in a gentle toned voice. Her eyes though looked at me with a look that I have seen in many mothers which usually means that if you were to mess with there cub that you would never be able to do so again. I figured that even though tat they were sisters, that salvia looked up to the White wolf as a mother. Maybe because there mother died at a young age or maybe she abandond them. It didn’t matter. I bowed to her as a sign of respect.

“There is no need to thank me. I myself was once trapped in a similar device which a friend helped me escape from. I am merely passing on the wisdom that he showed m. Besides I doubt either of the other two males would have left you in that trap, considering the size of this pack at the moment.”

Kala's defensive stance weakened as she became aware he was not here to harm Salvia. She smiled at him, "Yes that is true. I have already considered this." She glanced at Salvia from the corners of her eyes and continued speaking, "Although I'm sure it hasn't crossed everyone's mind just yet. The main thing we need to concern ourselves with now is food and survival. The rest will come later." She tried not to seem to upset but she was upset that she sounded like an alpha again. She thought about just not speaking altogether but that wouldn't get them anywhere. She spoke again, "What are your plans?" Trying not to sound rude she added, "There's your age to consider, even though we elementals live longer then our feral brethren...." she trailed off not wanting the topic to get uncomfortable.

"Well my dear I never said I was an elemental such as yourself. It is true that I am one though but it will not help me with my age. I plan hopefully to find a pack that I can stay with and live the rest of my life with. I don't think I have that much longer." I could feel that she was getting a bit more relaxed about me around Salvia. I had no interests in her in the ways of a mate. I lost my chance for a mate many years ago. I was too old. Besides there were two younger males that I would have to compete with even if I wanted to.

Kala felt a little bad for the old wolf and wanted to press further into his life, but that would require him pressing into her life as well and she would not allow that. She could tell him all the normal things sure, but the rest would stay hidden. She looked back at Salvia and noticed that she had become bored. Kala said thank you to the wolf once more and then shoved Salvia into the stream, smiling as she did so. Any other talk would have to come later, Kala had made a promise to her sister that she intended to keep, that is until the alpha awoke and they went on a hunt, she wasn't sure what to do about this. Salvia wasn't a hunter but she couldn't really stay behind either. She would figure it out later.

I was sitting at home on my couch just watching the daily news like I did ever day. I have a glass of scotch in my hand that I had barely touched. The only light was from the TV and the city streets that were down below. I was about to doze off but the phone rang. No one calls me at this time of hour. I picked up the phone.

    "Yes?"

"Luitenant Marrok. My name is Samual Sullet. Your freind Vess said you could help me with a problem I have." Vess... I haven't heard that name in ten years. He was the admiral that I served under when I spent my years in the military.

"I don't go by that title. What problem?"

"The details will be given to you in the morning." He then gave me an address to go to, which was to a smaller town a few hours away. Samual then hung up. Great, this beter be worth it.

    .....

I walked into an office with two men standing by a desk. One was quite young, likely in his early twenties. The other was much older. I wasn't sure how old he was but he had some grey hairs on his head. The younger man offered me a chair to sit down in. Once I was seated the young man introduce himself as Samual, the man who talked to me over the phone. The man with the grey hair then began to discuse what he called me down here for.

"Marrok we have a problem at the moment that have to do with some wolves." I didn't inturupt him since I knew it was rude to do so. "You see about a week ago we began getting in reports of killings. The killings range from whole camp sites being wipeout to single travelers. We know for a fact that they are wolves and that it is likely a single pack that is hunting humans. I want you, with that unique ability of yours to infaltrate this pack and gather information on them for us."

"Sir I was brought here to go and chase after wolves?"

"These are not just wolves, we believe that most of them are elemental animals."

"Isn't there just usually one in a pack, usually being the alpha male?"

"That was only a theory. Which is now been proven wrong." Samual said.

"We will pay yo greatly for doing this." I did need the money since I have been out of work for nearly a year now.

"Alright I accept. When will I start."

"Good, you start tomorrow. We will have you report to us every five days."

I stood at the edge of the forest, stripped of all my cloths. It was dark out and would soon be morning. I felt my power flow through my body, hair start to grow over every inch of my body. I could fee myself “falling” to the ground as I shrunk in size and I bend forward on my hands. My nails turned into claws. My hands turned into paws. My teeth formed into fangs. My jaw sprouted out forward. My tail sprouted out behind me. As the form finished I felt the wolf’s instincts enter my mind. This all took a bit less then thirty seconds. The sheer power and speed of this creature never ceased to amaze me. I had done this form before, more then once. I took off at full speed into the forest. I zigzagged between trees and under branches and over fallen logs. No human could do this, not at this speed. A wolf’s reflexes were beyond what a human could dream for as well as there speed. I ignored the small amount of instincts that were in my mind when I caught the other scent of wolves in the area.

This is my unique ability, which few have ever been know to have. Shape shifting, to be able to change my shape and form into an animal. There are rules to it though. I cannot shape shift into something lifeless, like a rock. I can only shape shift into creatures with similar structures as a human. It needs to have a head, body, two arms and two legs but I was not allowed to have more then four limbs except a tail. This means I cannot change into a snake since it has no limbs and I couldn’t change into a bug since it had more then four. I can change into a bird since the wings count as arms. There is no time limit for staying in a form but I still need to eat the proper foods for whatever animal I chose to be.

While in the military was a recon and intelligence gatherer. With my ability I was able to move behind enemy lines completely undetected. I gathered anything from enemy positions, assassination targets, patrol routes and times, hidden base locations, traps, and ambushes. Only three people knew about my ability while I served. An admiral by the name of Grek, who died shortly after I was placed under his command, Vess who took over for Grek, and my friend Allen. Allen was the one I reported to directly and handed what I had found out over to. He’s still in the service even when I asked him to leave, telling me that he found no point in going back to the boring life of a civilian since there was nothing to do. After I left I took up being a veterinarian and used my ability to “communicate” with my patients to find out what was wrong. I was fired a while ago for a rumor that I was abusing the animals, since I had to always keep them over night so I was able to b alone with the animals. Of course the rumors were a lie.

My objective was to locate a pack that had been wreaking havoc on humans… objective? God I was going back into the military mind. Anyway what had apparently been happening is a large group of wolves were attacking humans. Surprisingly most had elemental powers, so the survivors would say. The law wanted to get rid of the wolves and didn’t care much for how many wolves were elemental. The one that I met the other day with the grey hair was named Jailer. He didn’t agree with the others to just eliminate the wolves and also thought it to be a bit risky without knowing exactly what they were going against. He called Samuel up who was an expert in wolves and started working with him about the matter. Jailer contacted Vess about the situation who suggested having me “infiltrate” the pack and asses the situation. Samuel also asked if I could gather some scientific information on them. Jailer told me that this was to help out the situation about the attacks but the moment I sensed that t was too risky I was to leave, since I would do them no good if I died. Before I left Jailer told m the meeting location for the after the first five days and Samuel implanted a device in me that apparently would tell me if a wolf was elemental. It was supposed to anyway. I wasn’t sure how it would tell me or not. I doubted I would hear a voice in my head just start naming off the ones. Though Samuel said that it would not tell me what type they had. This was also the reason I was not traveling as a bird. If I was to shape shift into anything smaller then a wolf the device might end up outside my body. I had to remain in this form for the next five days.

As I traveled through the forest I was approaching the area I had to search for the pack. IF the pack had moved on I would only waste about three days searching the entire area. Once I was in the area I began searching it a section at a time. Jailer gave me a map of all the know traps that were set up in this area that I memorized, so I wouldn’t get caught in one myself. As I was searching the third section I came across a sprung trap. The wire that clamped it together had been twisted and melted. This was also recent that this had been done. Since this area was off limits to humans at the moment I figure a wolf had set it off and was able to free themselves. They were smarted the law predicted. I picked up the scent of five wolves, two females and three males. This was odd. On of the females was the one who was caught in the trap and perhaps it was one of the others freed her. I followed the scent. I came to an open area that had a river beside it. I quickly got a drink from it ad then began to investigate the area. This is where the five wolves seemed to sleep, though they did not sleep all together. The two females slept next to each other, while the three males slept a bit spread out from one another. I didn’t pick up the scent of any other wolves. I thought the pack would be a lot bigger then this. There weren’t supposed to be any other packs in the area. Also another thing that puzzled me is that I could not find a sign that the one female wolf had been injured at all. Which doesn’t make muck sense unless one of the wolves in the pack had the ability to heal but I wouldn’t think that they would be able to use there abilities that well. I was also hoping that since one of the females was injured, they wouldn’t be able to go very far.

I decided to wait nearby until night. This was the only good “nesting spot” nearby. All other places would take about half a day to travel too. I would wait to see if they returned. They might have gone out hunting. I left the area and went to a little hill near by that I could see the area well. I laid there, knowing that I couldn’t do search elsewhere while I waited since my scent was all over the area they slept at so if they got back, before I was they might leave. While I waited I reviewed the plans in my head and what possible ways I could try to be let into the pack. Then it came to mind that this might just have been a scouting party and that they were returning to the larger pack. If that was true I would have to follow there scent and hope that is wouldn’t disappear.

Kala pushed her sister in the river playfully. I never had any siblings or ever played as a pup. Just then the alpha awoke as wel did the grey wolf. They grey one slowly got up and stretched casualy. They both walked over to us. Salvia was getting out of the river and was about to jump onto Kala when she noticed the others coming over. The alhpa took a drink from the river and looked up at us

"I see we are all getting aquanted. In that case. My name is Damek, though some of you may know this."

"Hi!" Salvia said childishly, it almost made me laugh. "I'm Slavia This is my sister Kala and the old wolf is Ethric." Kala seemed to give Salvia a look for calling me old. The grey wolf still looked tired.

    "I'm Odoziril."

"I thought ethrics name was wierd." I heard Salvia whspered to Kala. I didn't notice if she gave her a look for that as well and I wasn't sure if the others had heard her either.

"We should hunt since its been a while since we have eaten." Damek said in a commandful voice. Which is to be expected from an alpha.

"Yay! I get to learn to hunt!" Salvia said as she jumped around in excitement.

    "Youve never hunted?" I asked.

"Well I've tried but I have never caught anything." Damek had a troulbed look. It was going to be dificult to get by with such a small pack like this and everyone needs to pull there own weight. Salvia will struggle with that since her childish manner. I lack the physical compasity to do alot which means I can't keep up with te younger ones when they hunt. Salvia would just cause them to lose what they are chasing or stall them. Neither of us are fi for hunting, but she could be trained to be.

"I will train Salvia to hunt." I said calmly. "If that is alright with you Alpha." He nodded his head in acceptence.

    "Very well. Salvia follow me."

"OK!" As I walked past Kala she loked at me.

"I give you my word she will be safe with me. If any harm comes to her you ma iflict the same injures that have befallen her." I then left with Salvia and headed in a different drection as the others so not to disturb them.

I walked off with Salvia leaving the other three to go hunting together. Salvia was skipping while she walked, carefree and not a worry in the world. She was aloe with me and not anyone else, and already, after barely knowing me, trusted me. Made me worry about how easily she would trust others. We walked for a while and then I stopped and Salvia nearly ran into me from not paying attention.

“Alright Salvia.” She looked right at me.

    “Yes.”

“Pay attention to everything I have to say because I don’t like to repeat myself. Now I don’t really care what anyone else taught you about hunting if anyone did at all…..”

“Yes a lot of people taught me. Kala, Jarith, Gruner,…” She said interrupting me.

“Salvia please stop, it’s rude to interrupt when someone’s talking.”

“Oh, well you just interrupted me so why do you get to?” That was probably the… no. I need to remember she is like a child.

“I was talking first so you’re the only one who interrupted.” I said calmly. “Now forget anything they ever taught you. Now the first rule is never to underestimate your prey. Always think that they are faster then you, more agile, stronger, and smarter.” I looked at her who was just looking at me with a smile. Most likely will be smarter then her. “Now when you hunt never, just chase. You need to plan ahead of time where you want to lead them to trap, flank, or corner it. The best thing to do is…” I noticed that Salvia was getting distracted by a butterfly that was near by. “SALVIA!” I said sternly. She wiped around and looked at me. Obviously this isn’t the way to teach her. “Aright lets go and find something to hunt.”

Salvia followed me around for a while. I kept asking her to keep her eyes out for anything. Finally I found a rabbit and instructed to catch it with what she knew about hunting. I fell back a bit and watched. She would slowly approach the rabbit, staying low in the grass. She got quite close and then the rabbit noticed something odd and then Salvia bolted at it. The rabbit took off running in circles with her for a bit and then escaped in it’s borrow that was near by. I found her another rabbit and had her try to catch it but she failed again. We tried a couple more times sometimes with rabbits, other times with dears or other animals. She never caught one thing. I was starting to give up and think the only thing she was good for was her beauty. I was sitting there wondering what to do next when suddenly Salvia jumped up and attacked me. I quickly moved on instinct and she missed landing on her side. I took the opening and went for her throat. I then quickly stopped. She had a look of fear in her eyes. Stupid me, she didn’t attack me she was probably bored and wanted to play.

“Salvia, I would recommend not just jumping on someone like that to play if you’ve never played with them before. They might think you are doing something else and scare them.”

“Oh sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you.”

“You didn’t scare me! You just startled me.” This was hopeless. She was still too much of a child to want to do anything serious. She only wanted to play games…. Wait games. Of course, why didn’t I think of this before? “Salvia. If you want to play a game, I have a new one for you.”

    “Really?”

“Yes. I played this one a lot while I was out on my own, to keep myself amused.” She looked really excited and pumped full of energy, which was surprising since she’s already been chasing animals all day. “Now the object of the game is to get points. You get points from animals, when you catch and kill them. The bigger the animal the more points you get. You ready?” She stood there as if ready to jump on me again. “Go.” She took off at full speed in a direction. I walked off in another to look for at least something to catch but of course with my luck I didn’t find anything I could have caught. I searched until it was nearly dark. I started looking for Salvia who ran into me with a rabbit in her jaw.

“Well I couldn’t get anything so looks like you win this time. Let’s go. The others should be back by now.” Salvia walked with pride with the prize she had.

Damek crept through the forest's undergrowth, making sure he was low and quiet. He knew that Kala and the recently revealed Odoziril were nearby, but he wasn't quite sure exactly where they were. He would just have to trust they knew what to do. That in itself was a long shot, as most of the hunting in Damian's pack was just getting close and slaughtering entire herds of prey with powers, and this was taught to most of the pups. Damek knew better than that. Killing everything one could wasn't hunting, it was slaughter, and a great portion of the meat then went to waste and when the pack actually needed food, it couldn't find any because all the prey was already wiped out. Damek wouldn't do such things, because he luckily had learned actual hunting from his father, who had survived an attack on his pack, and was painfully integrated into Damien's. Also luckily for Damek, no one really cared about that and and considered him as just any other pup. Regardless of the past, he wasn't about to hunt that way. It would be done right, and only on what they needed. The herd of deer that he could smell right in front of him had both the sweet scent of a fawn and recent blood, hopefully an injury on another deer.

Damek stopped on the edge of a thicket that bordered the clearing the herd was in. Luck was indeed on their side, for the injured doe was right next to the fawn. They would be able to get both. The faint scent of the others drifted more strongly from both up and down the thicket, so Damek assumed they were ready as well. It would still be hard to get the fawn, but the doe was pretty much theirs. Kala was probably a little less experienced than Damek or Odoziril, so as Damek burst from the brush and lunged to the fawn, he yelled, "Kala, get the injured one!" He blocked out the rest of the herd, they would all get away as all of them bolted the second Damek left the thicket. It felt good to be running after the fawn, and Damek knew it was remnants of feral instincts. Even so, he liked the feeling and hoped the others did too, so that they didn't get lazy and would just use powers. The fawn was still really fast, and Damek barely caught up enough to bite its legs. They couldn't outright take it down until it was slowed, and Damek knew blood loss and pain would overwhelm the fawn much quicker than any of the other deer. Damek didn't pay much attention to the others, while Odoziril's help would be nice, it wasn't necessarily required. It only took a few moments before the fawn started tripping up, and Damek lunged at it.

It fell, and Damek immediately maneuvered around and bit down hard on its neck, then swiftly snapped the spine. There was no need to make it suffer any longer, and he wasn't one to rip the throat open anymore. Not after Damien took to playing with various animals in such a manner. Damek looked around as the more feral parts of him gave way to thought and logic once more. The corpse was twitching a little bit, but such things faded quickly. It turned out that Odoziril was there with him, and with his help, they managed to drag the corpse to where Damek could smell Kala. On the way there, he wondered if she was successful. The fawn alone wouldn't feed them much, but with the doe as well there would be plenty to go around the entire group.

Salvia and I approached the clearing where we slept at last night. As I entered the area I could smell a new wolf, one that I have never known. I immediately turned to Salvia.

“Stay hidden in the woods.” I strictly told her. She backed up a bit and stayed low. She still had the rabbit with her. Is it possible that Damian’s pack found us? Or is this just a solo wolf? I moved further out. If this was a trap, I’d prefer to spring it and let Salvia get away. I looked around looking for anything out of the ordinary. I couldn’t spot anything. I signaled for Salvia to come out of hiding. She trotted over and put the rabbit down. She looked around a bit.

    “Who’s that?”

“You mean the one we can smell?”

“No, he’s up on the hill.” I looked up to where she was looking and sure enough there was a wolf near the top lying there looking at us. How did I not see him? He stood up and started towards up. I didn’t knowd his intentions, weather they were good or bad.

“Salvia, if I tell you to run. You run.”

    “Why?”

“In case you’re in danger. You run and find the others and tell them not to come back here.”

“What about you?” She asked me in a concerned voice. Was nice for once to hear that someone cared about me.

“If I have to tell you to run, you’ll likely never see me again.” I readied myself for whatever would happen when this wolf approached us.

After nearly waiting full day, a wolf finally showed up at the area. He seemed to have noticed right away that I was there and acted cautiously. I laid there watching him, wondering what he would do next. There was only one so maybe this was a lone wolf and not part of the pack, though I seemed to be wrong since shortly after a female wolf came out of the forest with a rabbit in her mouth. I assumed it was his mate. As she walked out she looked at me and didn’t look away. I guess now would be the time to go introduce myself. I stood up and made my way to them.

As I approached I noticed that the male was old and rugged. His fur was a bit of a mess, and it looked like he had been in a fight recently. He seemed tense, probably from my presence. I looked over at the female wolf and removed the idea from my head that this wolf was his mate. She was very young and very beautiful for a wolf. Her fur was clean and elegant. Her eyes were fixed on me. I wouldn’t say there was a look of lust or love in them. It was more like overwhelming curiosity.

“What is your purpose being here?” The male asked suddenly. His voice sounded like he was in control but also that he didn’t like me.

“I heard about your pack and with to join. I am willing to pull my fair share of the work and do an….” The old one cut me off.

“I am not the one to allow you into our pack. That would be the Alpha.”

“Of course I understand. Well perhaps you could put in a good word for me.”

“Perhaps, though I don’t know you or what your true purpose is here. What pack were you in last before you came here.”

“Trallin’s pack.” I said making up a name. This would not be the first time I have attempted to enter a wolf pack. I’ve tried it once while I was just messing around in this form when I ran across a pack and instead of having them rip me apart I convinced them that I wanted to join them. “We were separated and I searched for them for a couple of months but ad no luck in finding them. So I decided to move on, when I came across this area.” The old one looked at me suspiciously.

“Alright we will wait for the others to get back, then we can decide weather you can stay or not.” He went over to the river to get a drink. I looked over at the female.

“May I ask what your name is?”

    “Salvia.”

“A beautiful name for a beautiful wolf.” Though just as I said that the old one jumped up and stood between the two of us.

“I never gave you permission to speak to her.” He boomed. “Salvia, go put that dinner away and get some rest.” She did as she was told and walked away. “Stay away from her until the others get here.”

“Is she your daughter?” I asked. His reaction reminded me of how fathers usually act when someone is making a move on there daughters.

“No, but she is under my care and when her ‘mother’ gets back you can find out from her if she wants you talking to her.” The way he said mother was odd. Like he meant her mother but he also didn’t. He walked back towards the female and lay next to her, watching me the entire time. I lay on the ground again…. having to wait once again, hoping it wouldn’t be long until I met the others.

They had managed to find a herd of deer. Kala, like the others, could smell the fawn and the blood. She looked to the spot where she could smell Damek and waited for his move. It was lucky that she had trained herself to hunt naturally. She had tried to teach Salvia only to fail each time. Damek rushed out of the brush and told Kala to take the doe. She thought this was a risky decision from him because he didn't know if she could hunt. She shook the thought from her head, it didn't matter anyway, because she could hunt and the doe would be easy prey.

She rushed forward, pushing herself ahead of the doe. She quickly turned around and the doe's eyes filled with fear as she tried to run around the white wolf. Kala burst forward and leapt up, sinking her teeth into the does tender neck. The taste of blood reminded Kala of her hunger, she ignored it and snapped the poor beasts neck. She waited patiently for the others.

Once they arrive Damek gave the order to Odozoril to help Kala drag the doe back to camp. Damek took the fawn. It took them awhile but soon they arrived, and everyone could sense something wasn't right. Kala dropped the deer before Damek had a chance to give any new orders. She hid in the brush as did the rest and she noted her surroundings, Salvia and Ethric were on one side of the clearing, she smiled at the rabbit that lay near Salvia, she ignored the disappointed feeling she had of herself when she noted that Ethric had successfully got Salvia to concentrate on the hunt.

She looked to the other side of the clearing where Ethric was so intently staring. There was another wolf, a stranger, why had they left him alive? Who was he? She immediately turned to Damek, waiting for his orders.

The others got back. I coud see them waiting in the brush. I got up and asked Salvia to follow. I walked over to the wolf and told him come with me. Together the three of us walked over to the rest. I sat down in front of them all and explained the situation. Salvia ran over to Kala and placed herself next to her. Though it was nice to have her under my care, I know she prefered to be with Kala. After I finished, the wolf introduced himself as Marrok and that he had been traveling a long distance until he came across another pack. I guess we were the first ones. I didn't like his story very well and didn't trust him. I wasn't sure what the others thought but we were a new pack and none of us actually knew eachother and we did need more wolves. Figured it would be another male to join.
